The "2025 Digital Agriculture Academy Series Course — Smart Agricultural Management: AI Marketing Prediction and Blockchain Applications" was successfully held on 2025.10.28(Tue.) at the International Conference Hall of the Applied Science and Technology Building, National Chung Hsing University (NCHU).
The course was guided by the Ministry of Agriculture, organized by the Agricultural Technology Research Institute (ATRI), and co-organized by NCHU's College of Engineering and Smart Agriculture Research Center. The event featured distinguished speakers: Dean Yu-Mei Lin of NCHU’s College of Law and Politics, Founder Li-Wei Yang of E-Leader Information Co., Ltd., and CEO Yuan-Wen Wen of the Livestock Business Division at Taiwan Sugar Corporation (Taisugar). They delved into the practical applications and challenges of AI in marketing prediction, legal regulation, and blockchain technology within the agricultural supply chain.
Distinguished Professor Ming-Te Yang, Dean of the College of Engineering and Director of the Smart Agriculture Research Center at NCHU, stated that the university continues to integrate AI into smart agriculture, leading to the development of Shennong GPT and various AI models and databases, with numerous research outcomes receiving both domestic and international recognition.
Dean Lin Yu-Mei, representing the NCHU College of Law and Politics, delivered a detailed presentation titled "An Overview of the EU AI Act’s Legislative Philosophy and Regulatory Content." She thoroughly analyzed the concept of AI development's "Dual Transformation"—the integration of digital transformation and sustainable transformation—emphasizing AI's potential to help achieve Sustainable Development Goals. Dean Lin detailed the EU AI Act’s risk-based legal framework, which manages AI applications across four levels: unacceptable, high, limited transparency, and minimal/low risk, and provided a comparison with the Executive Yuan’s draft of the AI Basic Law.
Founder Li-Wei Yang of E-Leader Information Co., Ltd. shared real-world applications of AI in marketing prediction. He explored how businesses can utilize AI to "refine data into gold," employing AI Agent technology and new-generation AI Search intelligence to monitor market intelligence, analyze online public opinion, and track competitors.
CEO Yuan-Wen Wen of Taisugar’s Livestock Business Division offered an industry perspective on the application of AI and blockchain. He discussed how traceability records (產銷履歷) ensure food safety traceability during challenges like African Swine Fever and Ractopamine incidents. Furthermore, he shared Taisugar's future plans to implement AI image recognition for monitoring sow health and the concept of using a Digital Twin (數位孿生) to establish a virtual pig population for optimized feeding management.
The Digital Agriculture Academy course, spanning from regulations and marketing techniques to industry practices, successfully deepened foresight into smart agricultural management using AI and blockchain and promoted robust exchange between the industry and academia. The organizer, ATRI, affirmed its commitment to continuing these relevant courses, dedicated to promoting the application and innovation of digital technology for sustainable agricultural development.
