From October 22 to 23, 2024, the College of Law and Politics at National Chung Hsing University and the Institute of Law at Academia Sinica co-hosted the "International Conference on Ethics and Public Economic Law." Legal scholars from Germany, Austria, and Taiwan gathered to discuss the ethical issues surrounding public economic law, presenting new perspectives on international academic collaboration and the development of this field.
Four international scholars participated in the conference:
Prof. Dr. Stefan Storr and Dr. Matthias Zußner from Universität Graz, Austria, examined the subsidiarity principle of state-owned enterprises and digital economic law.
Prof. Dr. Jörg Ennuschat from Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany, explored ethical perspectives on business law.
Prof. Dr. Karl Stöger from Universität Wien, Austria, analyzed economic ethics in medical law.
Taiwanese participants included:
Dean Lin Yuh-May from the College of Law and Politics at National Chung Hsing University presented on data sovereignty and the data economy.
Director Lee Chien-Liang from the Institute of Law at Academia Sinica discussed ethical issues in artificial intelligence.
Distinguished Professor Jan Zhen-Rong from National Chengchi University reported on corporate ethics in economic administrative regulation.
The conference centered on the intersection of ethics and public economic law, addressing the balance between ethics and legal frameworks amidst the development of the data economy and digital technologies. Topics such as data sovereignty and the data economy brought fresh insights into international legal research while deepening global collaboration in ethics.
