    AI Governance and Sustainable Development Program

    🌱 Program Purpose and Objectives

    Stay ahead of technological change. Lead a sustainable future.

    In response to the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) and the growing urgency of global sustainability challenges, today’s university students need interdisciplinary knowledge and the ability to integrate different fields of expertise.

    The AI Governance and Sustainable Development Program is designed to help students understand how AI is applied to social governance, legal regulation, information ethics, and sustainable development. Through courses that connect environment, data, law, and technology, this program aims to cultivate future interdisciplinary leaders with global perspectives, social awareness, and practical problem-solving skills.

     

    👥 Who Can Apply

    NCHU Students
    Students from all degree levels are welcome to apply, including undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students.

    Non-NCHU Students and External Learners
    Inter-university course enrollment students and non-degree students may also participate in accordance with university regulations.

     

    🤝 Interdisciplinary Collaboration

    This program is coordinated by the College of Law and Politics and jointly supported by multiple academic units, including the College of Liberal Arts, General Education Center, Department of Law, Graduate Institute of International Politics, Graduate Institute of National Policy and Public Affairs, International Bachelor Program of Agribusiness, and Bachelor Program of Landscape Architecture and Recreation.

    Through this collaboration, students can access a wide range of interdisciplinary learning resources across AI, law, governance, sustainability, humanities, environmental studies, and social sciences.

    📖 Credit Requirements

    1. The program consists of two major course categories: Core Courses and Professional Elective Courses. Students must complete at least one course from the four Core Courses.
    2. Undergraduate students must complete at least 12 credits. Among these credits, at least 6 credits must not belong to the required courses of the student’s original major, double major, or minor.
    3. Students may select courses according to their interests, academic background, and future career goals. Course areas include AI applications, legal governance, public policy, sustainable development, environmental ecology, and digital humanities.
    4. Actual course offerings, instructors, class schedules, language of instruction, and enrollment restrictions are subject to the official course announcement and course selection system of each semester.

     

    📚 Course List

    This program covers topics such as AI applications, legal governance, public policy, global sustainability, social data analytics, digital humanities, environmental planning, ecology, and sustainable energy. Students may flexibly select courses based on their interests and academic background to develop interdisciplinary competence.
